sī́rā yuñjanti kaváyo yugā́ ví tanvate pŕ̥thak |
dhī́rā devéṣu sumnayáu ||1||
The poets (kaví) harness the plows (sī́ra), they extend severally the yokes—they the wise ones (dhī́ra), with desire of favor (?) toward the gods.
