Homage to Speech, both that which is uttered and that which is unuttered; homage to that Speech! Homage to Speech, homage to the Lord of Speech, homage to the seers, the makers of mantras, the lords of mantras! May the seers,
the makers of mantras, the lords of mantras, not cast me off; may I not cast off the seers, the makers of mantras, the lords of mantras! May I utter speech belonging to all the gods, auspicious, unerring, pleasing to the gods. May heaven be peace to me, earth peace,
this entire world peace. May the moon and the sun be peace, may Brahman and Prajāpati be peace. I will speak of the past, I will speak of the world, I will speak of brilliance, I will speak of glory, I will speak of ascetic heat, I will speak of Brahman,
I will speak, I will speak the truth. Therefore I spread this underlayer; may an underlayer arise for my offspring and cattle; may I become an underlayer for offspring and cattle. Inhalation and exhalation,
protect me from death; inhalation and exhalation, do not abandon me! I will think honey, I will produce honey, I will utter honey, I will speak honey. May I speak speech endowed with honey to the gods, worthy of being heard
