jaghanena citāṃ dakṣiṇāprācīṃ vihāraṃ kalpayitvā darbhairagniṃ pretaṃ citāṃ ca paristīrya dakṣiṇena vihāraṃ dakṣiṇāgnān darbhān saṃstīrya teṣvekaikaśo nyañci pātrāṇi sādayati \

Having arranged the sacrificial ground behind the pyre, pointing south-east, having strewn darbha grass around the fire, the deceased, and the pyre, and having strewn darbha grass with tips pointing south to the south of the sacrificial ground, he places down the vessels on them one by one, upside down.
