apavṛtte karmaṇi, vāmadevyagānaṃ śāntyarthaṃ śāntyartham.
iti prathamaḥ prapāṭhakaḥ.

At the end of the ceremony the Vâmadevya is sung for the sake of averting evil. The Vâmadevya is sung for the sake of averting evil.
