2.73

sāmarthyaprāpitaṃ yac ca vyaktyartham anuṣajyate
śrutir evānuṣaṅgeṇa bādhikā liṅgavākyayoḥ //

And when that which has obtained by capacity is linked syntactically (anuṣajyate) to clarify [the sentence], / a direct statement (śruti) alone, through syntactic extension (anuṣaṅga), annuls inferential mark (liṅga) and syntactical connection (vākya).
