"dyauḥ in the sense of heaven and sky; sva in the masculine in the sense of kinsman and self; sva in the neuter in the sense of one's own and wealth."
The author of the Medinī also [says]: "sva would be masculine in the sense of self and kinsman; in the three genders in the sense of belonging to oneself; non-feminine in the sense of wealth."
Therefore, the explanation of "sve, svāḥ" as "selves" remains entirely sound.
