16.68

śrībhagavān uvāca
abhayaṃ sattvasaṃśuddhir jñānayogavyavasthitiḥ
dānaṃ damaś ca yajñaś ca svādhyāyas tapa ārjavam
ātāṃ tayāci daivaguṇāṃ- |
mājī dhurecā baisaṇā |
baise tayā ākarṇā |
abhaya ase ||

Fearlessness, purity of mind, steadfastness in the yoga of knowledge,
charity, self-control, and sacrifice, study of the scriptures, austerity, and uprightness—
________________________________________
Now, among those divine qualities,
listen to the one that takes its seat
at the very forefront:
it is fearlessness.
