yerāṃ iṃdriyāṃ viṣaya tuṭe |
taisā niyamū na ye rasa haṭeṃ |
jeṃ jīvana heṃ na ghaṭe |
yeṇeṃviṇa ||
Sense objects may be severed from the other senses, / but the sense of taste does not yield to such restraint by force, / for this living existence cannot be maintained / without it.
