tasmād yasya mahābāho nigṛhītāni sarvaśaḥ
indriyāṇīndriyārthebhyas tasya prajñā pratiṣṭhitā
mhaṇoni āpulīṃ āpaṇapeyā |
jarī ye iṃdriyeṃ yetī āyā |
tarī adhika kāṃhī dhanaṃjayā |
sārthaka ase ||

Therefore, Dhanañjaya, if these senses
come under one's own control,
is there any greater
purpose accomplished?
