3.28

The female companion speaks.
āciriyaviruttam of eight-foot long lines.
They swing on the swing; they call out opposite the hill;
they take lustrous pearls; they pluck groves of flowers;
they bathe in the flawless water; they play ammāṉai, ball, and pebbles,
and rejoice — crores of maidens!
In the millet field where slings are swung upon the Mēru-like mountain
encircling the beautiful city of Aruṇai of the Lord with the bull banner, who is easy to worship,
we do not clearly know who she is
who produced confusion in the heart of the lord of the spear!
