قال: وقال لنا بلغني أن الشيخ برهان الدين الصاغرجي شيخ سمرقند [4] مزيد في العلوم والزهد، وأنه لا يثبت عنده مالا ، فأعطوه أربعين ألف تنكة يتزود بها إلى الملتان [5] ، ثم إذا دخل بلادنا جدنا عليه بالأموال، ثم قال: وإن لم تجدوه، أعطوا هذا المبلغ لأهله، ليوصلوه إليه إذا جاء، وعرفوه بأننا نطلبه ليتزود إلى الملتان .

He said: He told us: 'I have heard that Shaykh Burhān al-Dīn al-Ṣāgharjī, the shaykh of Samarqand [4], excels in the sciences and in asceticism, and that no money stays with him. Give him forty thousand tankas to provide for his journey to Multān [5]; then, when he enters our lands, we shall be generous to him with wealth.' Then he said: 'If you do not find him, give this sum to his household so that they may deliver it to him when he comes, and let them know that we are asking for him, so that he may provision himself for the journey to Multān.'
