وحدثني الشيخ أبو بكر بن الخلال البزي الصوفي، قال: بعث هذا السلطان مع جماعة أنا (المخطوط ص 27) منهم ثلاث لكوك [2] ذهبا إلى بلاد ما وراء النهر، لتفرق على العلماء لكا منها، ويتصدق على الفقهاء بلك منها، ويبتاع له باللك الثالث [3] .

Shaykh Abū Bakr b. al-Khallāl al-Bazzī the Sufi told me: This Sultan sent with a group, of whom I was (manuscript p. 27) one, three lakhs [2] of gold to Transoxiana, one lakh of it to be distributed among the scholars, one lakh to be given in charity to the jurists, and with the third lakh purchases to be made for him [3].
