ولما شاهدت لهذا الشيخ هذه الكرامة، انقطعت إليه ولازمته، وتركت الدنيا ووهبت جميع ما كان عندي للفقراء والمساكين وأقمت عنده مدة فكنت أراه يواصل عشرة أيام وعشرين يوما، ويقوم أكثر الليل حتى بعث عني السلطان ونشبت في الدنيا ثانية، والله تعالى يختم بالخير، وسأذكر ذلك فيما بعد إن شاء الله تعالى وبكيفية رجوعي إلى الدنيا (101) .

When I saw this miracle of the shaykh, I devoted myself to him and kept constantly in his company. I abandoned the world and gave all I had to the poor and needy, and stayed with him for a time. I used to see him fast continuously for ten days and twenty days, and stand in prayer for most of the night, until the sultan sent for me and I became entangled in the world a second time — may God Most High grant a good end. I shall mention this later, God Most High willing, and how I returned to the world (101).
