وليس هنالك من أشجار بلادنا شيء ما عدا النبق (36) ، لكنه عندهم عظيم الجرم، وتكون الحبة منه بمقدار حبة العفص، شديد الحلاوة، ولهم أشجار كثيرة ليس يوجد منها شيء ببلادنا ولا بسواها!

There are none of the trees of our country there except the lote-tree (nabq) (36), but with them it is of great size, its fruit being the size of a gall-nut and very sweet. They have many trees of which none is found in our country or anywhere else!
