ولما وصلنا إلى الجزيرة الصغرى بين هنور وفاكنور خرج علينا الكفار في اثنى عشر مركبا حربية، وقاتلونا قتالا شديدا، وتغلبوا علينا فأخذوا جميع ما عندي مما كنت أذخره للشدائد وأخذوا الجواهر واليواقيت التي أعطانيها ملك سيلان، وأخذوا ثيابي والزوادات التي كانت عندي مما أعطانيه الصالحون والأولياء ولم يتركوا لي ساترا خلا السراويل! وأخذوا ما كان لجميع الناس! وأنزلونا بالساحل، فرجعت إلى قالقوط فدخلت بعض المساجد، فبعث إلي أحد الفقهاء بثوب وبعث القاضي بعمامة، وبعث بعض التجار بثوب آخر.

When we reached the small island between Hinawr and Fākanūr, the infidels came out against us in twelve warships and fought us fiercely. They overpowered us and took everything I had that I had been saving for hard times; they took the gems and rubies the king of Saylān had given me, and they took my clothes and the provisions I had that the pious and the saints had given me, and left me no covering except my trousers! They took what belonged to everyone and put us ashore on the coast. I returned to Qāliqūṭ and went into one of the mosques. One of the jurists sent me a garment, the qāḍī sent a turban, and a merchant sent another garment.
