وكان السيد ناصر الدين الا وهري قد ترك عندي لما سافر ألفا وستين تنكة فتصرفت فيها، فلما عدت إلى دهلي وجدته قد أحال في ذلك المال خذاوند زادة قوام الدين، وكان قدم نائبا عن الوزير، فاستقبحت أن أقول له: تصرفت في المال، فأعطيته نحو ثلثه، وأقمت بداري أياما.

When Sayyid Nāṣir al-Dīn al-Awharī set out on his journey, he had left with me one thousand and sixty tankas, and I had spent them. When I returned to Dihlī I found that he had assigned that money to Khudhāwandzāda Qawām al-Dīn, who had come as deputy for the vizier. I was ashamed to tell him, "I have spent the money," so I gave him about a third of it and stayed at home for some days.
