وبعد يومين منها وصلنا إلى مدينة فاكنور ، وضبط اسمها بفتح الفاء والكاف والنون وآخره راء، مدينة كبيرة على خور، بها قصب السكر الكثير الطيب الذي لا مثل له بتلك البلاد، وبها جماعة من المسلمين يسمى كبيرهم بحسين السلاط، وبها قاض وخطيب، وعمر بها حسين المذكور مسجدا لاقامة الجمعة.

Two days from there we reached the city of Fākanūr (its name is pronounced with a after the f, the k and the n, ending in r), a large city on an inlet. It has abundant, excellent sugar cane, unequalled in that country, and a community of Muslims whose chief is called Ḥusayn al-Salāṭ. It has a qāḍī and a preacher, and this Ḥusayn built a mosque there for holding the Friday prayer.
