13.17.3

Then the Sultan arrived with his troops, and the qāḍī Jalāl could not stand firm; he fled with his companions, and they left their property and their children, all of which was plundered. The city was entered, and the Sultan stayed in it some days, then departed from it, leaving there his brother-in-law Sharaf al-Mulk Amīr Bakht, whom we mentioned before, together with the affair of his flight, his capture in Sind, his imprisonment, and the humiliation and then the honour that befell him. He ordered him to search out those who had been in obedience to Jalāl al-Dīn, and left the jurists with him so that he might judge according to their opinions; this led to the killing of Shaykh ʿAlī al-Ḥaydarī, as we have related.
