اما بحکم آنک شاهزاذه در حداثت سن، وبدایت صبا بوذ، آن غرر ودرر چون صا میشمرد ، ودل بر تحصیل علم ، وتحمل اعبای مشقت حفظ وتکرار نمی نهاذ . تا مدتی برین گذشت ودر خزینهٔ‌ سینهٔ‌ او از نقود علوم هیچیز مدخر نشذ ، وسندباذ آنچ در وطای طاقت ، ووعای قدرت او گنجیذ ، از تفهیم وتعلیم مجهود خویش بذل می کرد ، ودر صباح ومسا ، بلعل وعسی ، روزگاری می برد ، ومنتظر فرصتی می بوذ ، وساعات سعادترا چشم می داشت ، ومی گفت :

while Sindbād expended his effort in instruction and teaching whatever could be contained in the expanse of his capacity and the vessel of his power,
and passed the time morning and evening with 'perhaps' and 'maybe', waiting
for an opportunity, watching for the hours of good fortune, and saying:
