هل الدهر بوما بلیلی بجود وأتامنا باللوی هل تعود عهود تقصت وعیش مضی نفسی والله تلک العهود ألا قل لسکان وادی الحبیب هنیا لکم فی الجنان الخلود أفیضوا علینا من الماء فیضا فنحن عطاش وانتم ورود بوزته چون این کلمات منظوم ومنثور سماع کرد ، با خوذ گفت : اگرچند میان من وخوک میابنتی طبیعی ، ومباعدبی صنیعی است ، کی بشکل وهیأت ، وسیرت وصورت مخالف یکدیگریم ، اما اگر در مقابلهآ این مقدمات و مقامات کی او در بیان زبان آورد ، وبمراعات حنان ، ومصافات زبان عرض داذ، تکلفی نکنم ،

Will time one day be generous with Laylā? / And will our days at al-Liwā return?
Pledges have ended and a life has passed; / my soul is ransom, by God, for those pledges!
O say to the dwellers of the beloved's valley: / May eternity in the gardens be pleasant for you!
Pour out some water abundantly upon us, / for we are thirsty while you are at the watering-place.
