آمذن کنیزک روز ششم بحضرت شاه وبراخی روذ ، وعنان یکران ، در جولان این میدان سست گذاشته آیذ، کار از دست تدارک در گذرذ ، ودر پای اهمال وامهال افتذ ؛ وشاه زاذه روز هفتم زبان بگشایذ ، وترهات وهدیانات من تقریر کنذ ، بهیچ حال مرا5 امیذ زندگانی نمانذ ، وبر تلخی عیش دل ببایذ نهاذ ، بل دل از حان شیرین بر بایذ گرفت . حنون بر وی غالب شذ، وسودا بر وی مستولی گشت؛ خویشین را بیش تخت شاه اوگند ، واشک حسرت از دیذه می ریخت ، وخاک ندامت بر فرق سر می حت؛ دم سرد بر می آورد ، و آتش سینهرا فروغ می داذ ، ومیگفت :

The slave-girl’s coming on the sixth day into the presence of the shah
and slackness occur in this matter, and the reins of the steed are left loose in the wheeling of this arena,
the affair will pass beyond remedy and fall prey to negligence and procrastination; and when on the seventh day
the prince unlocks his tongue and recounts my absurdities and ravings, by no means will there remain for me
any hope of life, and I must resign my heart to the bitterness of existence—nay, must tear my heart away from sweet life.”
Madness overcame her, and melancholy took possession of her;
she cast herself before the king’s throne, and tears of regret poured from her eyes,
and she poured the dust of remorse upon the crown of her head; she drew cold sighs, fanned the flames of the fire in her breast,
and said:
