إن الجهول یضر فی أخلاقه ضرر السعال سمن به أستسقاء (2/13) این افسانه از بهر آن گفتم تا پاذشاه همچون آن شیر از مشاورت بوزنهٔ‌ نادان متأسف ورنحور نگردذ ، واز ارتکاب این ظلم پشیمان نشوذ ؛ ورحا نفضل ایزذ عز اسمه واثقست کی بدستور او همان رسذ کی ببوزنه رسیذ ، وهمان بینذ کی او دید . این کلمات تقریر کرد ، واز پیش شاه خروشان بیرون رفت ، ومی گفت :

'Indeed, the ignorant man causes harm by his character, / just as coughing harms one afflicted with dropsy.'"
[The concubine said:] "I have told this fable so that the king may not become regretful and afflicted, like that lion,
from the counsel of an ignorant monkey, nor repent of committing this injustice;
and hope is firm in the grace of God—mighty is His name!—that the vizier will meet with what
befell the monkey, and see what he saw." She delivered these words, and went out from before the
shah weeping aloud, saying:
