ای بچشمم عزیز بر گردی گر زمین عطف دامن نو برفت از تو باز آمذن که یارذ خواست شکر این آمذن که دانذ گفت (14/0 واین کتابست ملقب بسندباذ ، فراهم آوردهآ حکمای عجم ، صفحات او بر از بدایع فطرت وصنایع فکرت وعجایب عقل وغرایب فضل ونوادر خواطر ونفایس ضمایر ، آب حیات دلهای مرده وروضهآ انس جانهای پژمرده ، ما ر ومحاسن ومفاخر او از حد احصا واستیفا بیرون :

"O dear in my eyes! If you turn away, / if the ground sweeps the hem of your garment,
who would dare ask you to return? / Who would know how to give thanks for this arrival?"
And this is a book entitled *Sindbād*, compiled by the sages of the Persians, its pages
filled with wonders of nature, arts of thought, marvels of the intellect, rarities of excellence, novelties of minds,
and precious treasures of consciences; the water of life for dead hearts, and the garden of intimacy for withered souls,
its virtues, excellences, and glories beyond enumeration and reckoning:
