A short description of the Mandapas in a village or town is also given (558-572). Their principal members are stated to be the Lupā (pent roof), Prastara (entablature), Prachchhādana (roof), Sabhā (council-hall), and Kuṭa (dome), etc. Maṇḍapas are also built on the road side and at other places. All the Maṇḍapas mentioned above are separately described as they belong to a temple or to the houses of the Brāhmins, the Kshatriyas, the Vaiśyas, and the Śūdras respectively (cf. 571-578).
