42. (1) गुडौदधि॰॰॰लाटे, the emendation is suggested by J.
(2) J. शकावरः, B. रशावरा, A. F. शशावरः for शलाचराः; this is another obscure expression. Apparently it should be the name of a deity (?शशधर) but the order of deities given under chapter VII, 150-152, does not include any deity between भल्लाट and सुग।
