Grāmasya parito bāhye rakshārthaṁ vapra-saṁyutam।
Tad-bahiḥ parito yukataṁ paritoya-pravedakaiḥ।
Chatur-dikshu chatush-koṇe mahā-dvāraṁ prakalpayet।
Vṛittaṁ vā chatur-aśraṁ vā vāstu-sva(-ā)-kṛiti-vaprayuk।
Pūrva-dvāraṁ athaiśāne chāgni-dvāraṁ tu dakshiṇe।
Pitur dvāraṁ tu tat-pratyag vāyau dvāraṁ tathottaram।
Pūrva-paśchima-tad-dvārau (-rayoḥ) ṛiju-sūtraṁ tu yojayet।
Dakshiṇottarayor dvārau tatra śeshaṁ (-deśe) viśeshataḥ।
Dakshiṇottarataḥ sūtraṁ vinyasech chhilpavit-tamaḥ।
Tasya sūtrāt tu tat-pūrve hastaṁ tad-dvāra-madhyame।
Evaṁ dakshiṇato dvāraṁ tad-dhi tāro(-raṁ) tathoktavat।
Uttare dvāraṁ tat sūtrāt pratyag-hastāvasānakam।
