Translation — Tivra 'ri' is चतुःश्रुतिक रि, tivratara 'ri' is पंचश्रुति रि and tivratama 'ri' is the same as षट्श्रुतिक रि. The same reasoning applies to the case of dhaivata; but the author adds पर ता यथायोग्यम् that is, these vikritas cannot be used indiscriminately.
