I do not think I ought to take you through the laborious process of the construction of the seventy two thatas of Vyankata Makhi. The process is well known in the Southern presidency. I have fully explained it in my own works, the Laksya Sangeeta and the Hindusthani Sangeeta Paddhati It may be noted that Vyankata Makhi does not use all the seventy two melas in classifying his janya ragas.
