It would be interesting to trace the origin of the jacket. It does not seem to be of Indian origin, as it does not occur in Ajaṇṭā paintings. Perhaps, it is of Central Asiatic or Persian origin brought over to Gujarāt by the merchants from those countries, as observed by Ibn Haukal.
