In modern dispositions Panchâma is admitted as a samvâdi to Rishaba and vice versâ. According to the authorities, Nishâda cannot be samvâdi to any other note than Gandhâra, and vice versâ. Madhyama therefore can have only one samvâdi, which will be Shadja; though, according to the calculations, it is shown to have Nishâda too for its samvâdi; Nishâda will have Gandhâra only for its samvâdi.
