From the open space, within the fort, behind the magazine and on the northern side of the wall, connecting the guard-rooms and the citadel, is a flight of steps leading to the barbican V, through a gate-way. On the inner side of the gate-way, to the left is a flight of steps leading to the top of the wall. From the barbican to the officers quarters, is a gate-way in southern part of the wall. Near this gateway and the entrance VI, are circular bastions. One of them, on the southern orientation is called "Khadak Bijli Burj". These bastions have parapet wall, provided with loop-holes at regular intervals, together with battlements. Thus, both the entrances are guarded well.
