The plan of the gate indicates that it is quite simple and looks as though less defensive in comparison with the gateways with protective devices in the contemporary Muslim fort of Bījāpur. But here, we should take note of the fact that this gateway is not the first and certainly not of the outermost wall. In fact, the wall with this gate (Fig. 59) is only a sort of protective enclosure to the citadel in side.
