Now, the Mauryan fort is not completely excavated and laid bare (Mishra,V.K. and Altekar,A.S., 1959, pp. 6-8) for understanding the theoretical guide lines of Kautilya. Hence Kautilya's canons are extremely important to know to what extent it has been useful for the builders of forts in the succeeding ages. For this kind of understanding it is, therefore, necessary to have the conjectural drawing as enunciated in the text. The same (Fig.78) prepared by me is given below.
