v2.c17.s1.368

[ 142 ] 7. *Indradyumna Tank.* This tank is situated to the north-east of Guṇḍicāgaḍh and contains excellent water; but it is not the site of any festivals, nor is it sanctified by the close proximity of any temple. The temple of Nṛsiṁha stands at a little distance and a temple of Nīlamādhava also once existed in its neighbourhood. It is, however, an old tank—old enough to be attributed to Indradyumna, a king of the Satya Yuga. Probably it is due to Yayāti Keśarī, who had assumed the title of second Indradyumna. The *Kapila Saṁhitā* speaks highly of its sin-removing quality. It measures 485 x 396 feet (Woodcut No. 22).
