*Chhannavīra* appears to be a flat ornament, a kind of jewelled disc, meant to be tied on the *makuṭa* or hung round the neck by a string so as to lie over the chest. This ornament is mentioned pretty frequently but what kind of thing it means is not quite easily understood.
