The Śaivas may observe both the Vaidika and the Śaiva duties, but if some of the former are opposed to the teachings of the Śaiva tantras, they should be abandoned. Those that have undergone the bhautiki and naiṣṭhiki dīkṣās may even abandon the Vaidik sandhyā ceremony but never the Śaiva sandhyā.
