The Śilparatna's prescription does not go after that of the Māna-sollāsa as is contended by the scholars that Śilparatna copies Mānasollasa verbatim. It gives in this connection some very important contents in the preparation of the background of the wall and emphatically directs that this ointiment, in which an ingredient of lime is an essential constituent, must not be used on the background of the board.
