In Southern Persia, in the Fars district, two prehistoric sites have been excavated near Persepolis, Tal-i-Bakun A and B. The B site proved the earlier, and BI may equate with Hassuna, BII with Halaf, while on the A site AI begins in early Ubaid times and the occupation goes on into Uruk times in A V.
