⁵ Despite their abundance in India proper, copper plate inscriptions are generally not common outside of India, though they are sometimes found in Nepal (see 4.3.7.2) and Burma (see 4.3.7.5). In Indonesia, copper plate inscriptions in Javanese, but not in Sanskrit, are quite numerous.
