² It is interesting to recall that all over the world these small hunting and fishing communities with these microlithic tools preferred soft sandy open sites (incapable of supporting heavy vegetation). This can be studied best in European Mesolithic period. But when once extreme specialization takes place these people seem to have moved even into the more wooded parts of Tropical India and Africa and managed to live with such small tools. If we are lucky one day in recovering the methods of hafting etc., we may be able to explain some of these anomalies.
