*Tilakhala*. Looking at the map of this region we find that the area south of the Beas comprising Hoshiarpur district, where even today sesamum forms the main crop should be indentified with Tilakhala ('the threshing-floors of *tila*'). Thus Tilakhala and Udumbara were immediate neighbours, and the former appear to be the same as the Tilabhāras of the epic (Bhīshmaparva, 10.51)¹.
