The successful general returned to Bijápur to grasp at supreme power. He seized and blinded Yeklás Khán and Sháh Abul Hassan, the latter of whom was afterwards put to death; and all obstacles having been removed and the Abyssinians banished, Diláwar Khán became regent, a position which he held for eight years.
