² Dr. Hultzsch tells us that Hiraṇya is probably spoken of as the *Mahârâja* Hiraṇyavarman in an inscription at Conjeeveram, which further mentions Paramêśvaravarman II. as then deceased, and probably recorded the accession, after his death, of Hiraṇyavarman, or of Nandivarman.
