¹ inscription of Vikramâditya II., brought to notice by Dr. Hultzsch (South-Ind. Inscrs. Vol. I. p. 147), at the Kailâsanâtha temple at Conjeeveram. The record mentions the temple of Râjasimhêśvara: from which it follows that it is subsequent to the time of Narasimhavarman II. who founded that temple (see further on), and, consequently, that it is a record of Vikramâditya II.,—not of his ancestor of the same name.
