Of Mahêndravarman III, we have a record in the Conjeeveram inscription No. 27, also at the Kailâsanâtha temple,⁷ which mentions Lôkâditya "whose valour dried up the army of Raṇarasika," and thus supplies another biruda of Ugradanḍa-Paramêśvaravarman I.; his son Râjasimha, i. e. Narasimhavarman II.; and his son Mahêndra (Mahêndravarman III.), who erected a Śaiva shrine called Mahêndrêśvara near the Râjasimhêśvara temple. In the same inscription, the shrine is also called the temple of Mahêndravarmêśvara, from which it is to be inferred that the full name of this Mahêndra was, as usual, Mahêndravarman.
