² Kṛiṣhṇaveṇṇâ, or more usually Kṛiṣhṇaveṇṇâ or Kṛiṣhṇaveṇṇâ, was the ancient epigraphic name of the Kṛiṣhṇa, evidently taken from its confluence, at Saṅgam-Mâhuli, three miles east of Sâtâra, with the Yeṇṇâ or Veṇâ, one of its most important feeders. The name perhaps also appears as Kṛiṣhṇaveṇi (*Jour. Bo. Br. R. As. Soc.* Vol. XII. p. 10); but there may be a misreading there, for Kṛiṣhṇaveṇṇâ.
