∗ The short account of Shah Jalāl, given by Dr. Wise, in the "Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bengal for 1873," p. 278, seems to be based on the Suhel-i-Yemen compiled in 1860 by Nasiruddin Hāldār. The original Persian text was published in Calcutta in 1894, and a metrical translation into Musalmāni Bengali by Ilāhi Baksh was printed in the Bengali year 1278.
