called Drishtivisha. Simhavarman is introduced in verse 10 as the father of Simhavishnu the latter being described as the conqueror of the Chola country. The subsequent verses repeat the names and exploits of the members of the Simhavishnu line supplied by Kasakkudi and other plates. Two successions after Nandivarman Pallavamalla are supplied by these plates. Dantivarman was the son of Nandivarman II through Reva (Sloka 18). His son through Aggalanimmati the Kadamba princess was King Nandivarman III, the donor. The object of the grant which was made in the sixth year of the reign was the gift of the village of Srikattupalli to the Siva temple built by a certain Yagnabhatta on the request of a Chola Maharaja, Kumarankusa. A long list of exemptions stating sources of royal revenue is given. The village has been identified with Kattupalli in Ponneri Taluk.
