But this is clearly wrong for the latest of Mahmud's coins is dated 1265; CCBM: the Sultans of Delhi, p. 26, no. 93. Alfi places the accession two days after Mahmud's death on the 13th Jamadi, I, 664; f. 61a. Cf. also Haji Dabir, II, p. 725.
