v3.c22.53
Dūngar, lately raja of Utgīr, had, after the capture of his stronghold, accepted Islam, and was now suffering at the hands of his former co-religionists. Sulaimān, son of Khān Khānān Qarmalī, was directed to go to his aid, but demurred, ostensibly on the ground that he was unwilling to serve at a distance from court. Sikandar, incensed by his pusillanimity, dismissed him in disgrace to the *pargana* of Indrī, in the Sahāranpur district, which was assigned to him for his maintenance, and permitted the army to plunder his camp.
